First, you need to realize that this is an exercise to manage your credit card debts better and save more money. With that thought in your head, you would have to stop using your credit card until you have paid off the entire outstanding amount. When you are struggling to pay the existing bill, why should you try and add more to the existing bill?
Next you would have to ensure that you pay your bills on or before the actually stated time and paying a lot more than the minimum expected amount as stated by the bank.
No matter what you do, make it appoint that you do not get an add-on credit card for your kids, especially if your kids are in their teens. You do know how teens are and how they love to show off and go on the impulsive spending spree especially when they are distraught!
